| BABY BOOMERS FLOCK TO THE NORTHERN BEACHES,SUN HERALD, OCTOBER 2011 |
 |
"As baby boomers retire, they are looking for a place that will suit their new lifestyle needs and the Northern Beaches is the perfect answer," said local property developer, Simon Deathridge, in an interview last week with the Manly Daily.
"While they make up only 25% of the population, baby boomers hold 75% of the nation's wealth. They hold a massive share of Australia's purchasing power, which makes them extremely influential in the property market," he explained.
Simon is Managing Director of boutique property development firm, Oakstand Property Group, which is currently developing a luxury beachfront 18-apartment development, Setai, Narrabeen Beach. Strong interest in the development has seen seven of the apartments sold off the plan already.
"Baby boomers are very active in comparison to previous retiring generations, which makes both indoor and outdoor space and multiple storage options very important to them.
"Extra bedrooms and dual living spaces are also of high importance, as this generation likes to entertain and have their grandchildren visit. We have carefully tailored the design of Setai to meet these needs," Mr Deathridge said.
"Baby boomers won't compromise on quality and when they find what they want, the price points don't become a sensitive issue.. There is no need to compromise with Setai, with its generous sized apartments, all enjoying beautiful, unobstructed views of Narrabeen Beach," Mr Deathridge continued.
Priced from $1.95 Million, the luxury apartments offer dual East and West balconies from which to enjoy the breathtaking scenery as well as intelligently designed dual living spaces and bespoke finishes.
From the spectacular ocean views and spacious, light-filled design, to the quality of fixtures and extensive outdoor decks, Setai represents the very pinnacle of luxury apartment living and it's pet friendly – it is the whole package. |

Baby boomers might make up 25 per cent of the population, but they hold 75 per cent of the nation's wealth according to a prominent property developer.
The managing director of a property developer with two large projects on the northern beaches, Simon Deathridge, said baby boomers are such a big demographic that developers have to listen to their demands and statistics from ABS show they hold a lot of the nation's wealth.
"They are time rich rather than time poor, lifestyle focused but also discerning. They won't compromise, but when they want money isn't a problem," he said.

| LUXURY LINERS - A NEW CLASS ON THE NORTHERN BEACHES: SMH DOMAIN, 6-7 NOV 2010 |
 |
Luxury developments are reaching the mid-Northern Beaches, writes Susan Wellings.
Views of a golden beach and the ocean beyond. Talk of celebrities galore. Beautifully designed multi-million dollar apartments. Bondi? Bronte? Palm Beach? Perhaps even Shelley Beach? No, its Narrabeen – a Northern Beaches spot better know for its laid-back lifestyle, cold beer and Midnight Oil playing the Sands Hotel than luxurious apartments. But now that’s all changing. A raft of upmarket projects is hitting the Northern Beaches from Warriewood down to Dee-Why, regularly with million-dollar-plus price tags.
“This level of quality is new for the area,” says a senior development manager with CABE, Matthew Suttor. “But its such a fantastic location, I can see it happening more.”
Oakstand developer, Simon Deathridge agrees. “This strip between the northernmost beaches and the ocean, with Narrabeen the midway point, is ready to take off,” he says. “We’re the first to build something really special here but it’s going to create a snowball effect.”
